About this Course

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for our 2022 Prelude in the Park with the Pacific Symphony! Below are the volunteer position descriptions. Please note that volunteers may be given a different assignment on the day of the event. We do our best to adhere to everyone's preferences but cannot guarantee placement in a particular area. If you are needing service hours for an organization, please bring your paperwork to the check-in area. At the end of your volunteer shift, staff will sign off on your forms. MUSICAL PLAYGROUND (35 spots available) Assist the Pacific Symphony with its own magical Musical Playground by interacting with guests, including families with small children, and encouraging participation with musical instruments. This is a great opportunity for volunteers interested in community service, while gaining experience in the arts, theater, and music. No experience necessary, must be 15 years of age and older. PRELUDE BOOTH ATTENDANTS AND GENERAL VOLUNTEERS (30 spots available) Assist city staff in event and community booths as needed by interacting with guests and encouraging participation in games and activities. Provide friendly and courteous customer service, and fill in as needed. No experience necessary, must be 15 years of age and older. GREETERS (4-6 spots available) Stand at main entrances to direct attendees, volunteers, and answer questions from the public. Must be familiar with the layout, provide directions and information about the events, performances, booths, games, first aid, restrooms, parking, ADA accessibility, and activities. Prior PSO volunteer experience preferred, must be 15 years of age and older.
