About this Course

Get ready for a real Old West experience! Enjoy an authentic chuckwagon meal, accompanied by the sounds of live cowboy western music and panoramic views of the Coachella Valley. The delicious buffet lunch includes barbeque tri-tip beef and chicken, coleslaw, cowboy beans, garlic bread and apple pie. Then, board mule-drawn covered wagons for a fun and fascinating narrated tour through the pristine 30,000-acre Coachella Valley Desert Preserve. There is no better way to get a close-up look of the desert than out on the trail – just like the early settlers experienced! While drawing your wagon across long-established desert trails, the onboard knowledgeable naturalist guide will share much about the wildlife, flora and fauna, San Andreas Fault, and local Indian customs on this unique adventure. The covered wagons have padded seats and rubber tires for a smooth, comfortable experience. We’ll also make a stop at Hadley’s, famous for their breads, nuts and date shakes.
